Hyderabad: Man duped of Rs 7.82 lakh by cyber fraudsters

Cyber fraudsters tricked a man into transferring Rs.7.82 lakh on pretext of providing an online job and later duped him in the city.

Hyderabad: Cyber fraudsters tricked a man into transferring Rs.7.82 lakh on pretext of providing an online job and later duped him in the city.

The victim, who is a private employee, received a message on his mobile phone from an unknown number about online jobs. As he was looking for online job opportunities to make extra income, he contacted the phone number provided in the message.

The conmen lured the victim initially into transferring Rs. 40,000 to start the job. Later, they send him a URL link and when the victim clicked on it, he lost Rs.7.82 lakh to the fraudsters, said the police.

A case is registered by the police after the victim made a complaint and investigation is going on.
