Hyderabad: A man died by suicide at Mokila in city suburbs allegedly after being reprimanded for not voting for BJP party sarpanch candidate during Panchayat elections held recently in Ranga Reddy district.
According to reports, Anil Kumar (25), a resident of Gopularam village in Shankarpally mandal, Ranga Reddy district stayed with his family.
The family members of Anil Kumar alleged that two days ago, a local person Sai Kumar alias Sailu, who had contested and lost the sarpanch election had allegedly scolded Anil Kumar for not voting for him. “Anil Kumar felt humiliated and slipped into depression, and hanged himself in the house,” the family alleged.
The Mokilla police on information reached the place and shifted the body for postmortem examination. A case was registered and an investigation started.
