Hyderabad: Man gets life term for killing mother
The man, Burusu Kondaiah (45), was living with his mother Yadamma (80) at Meerpet. In the early hours of July 13, 2016, Kondaiah killed Yadamma after she refused to give him money to meet his personal expenses.
Hyderabad: A local court on Wednesday sentenced to life imprisonment a man who killed his mother.
The man, Burusu Kondaiah (45), was living with his mother Yadamma (80) at Meerpet. In the early hours of July 13, 2016, Kondaiah killed Yadamma after she refused to give him money to meet his personal expenses. According to the police, Kondaiah smothered his mother to death after hitting her head against a cot in the house. He was angry that Yadamma was not giving him money though she used to get Rs. 3,000 a month towards interest on a sum of Rs. 1 lakh she had lent to one person.
After killing her, Kondaiah removed the blood stains from the house and tried to pass off the murder as an accidental death. The police, however, after getting the autopsy report, grilled Kondaiah who admitted to the killing, after which he was arrested.
On Wednesday, the LB Nagar court sentenced Kondaiah to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 2,000 on him.
