Hyderabad: Man gets lifer for raping mentally unstable woman
In May 2013, the convict Shaik Baba (36), a painter from Saroornagar, overpowered and raped the 28-year-old victim who was sleeping on the terrace along with her sister and nephews.
Hyderabad: A local court on Friday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for raping a mentally unstable woman in Meerpet in 2013. The court also imposed a fine of Rs.10,000 on him.
In May 2013, the convict Shaik Baba (36), a painter from Saroornagar, overpowered and raped the 28-year-old victim who was sleeping on the terrace along with her sister and nephews.
The victim raised an alarm and by the time her family members realized what happened and tried to nab Shaik Baba, he fled the spot. Based on a complaint from the victim’s sister, the Meerpet police booked a case and arrested him.
