Hyderabad man held for harassing woman with obscene photos
A 32-year-old man from an apartment complex in Chaitanyapuri was arrested for repeatedly sending obscene photos to a 41-year-old neighbour and demanding Rs 10 lakh to stop. The woman lodged a second complaint after he resumed the harassment, prompting his arrest.
Hyderabad: A man who had been repeatedly harassing a woman by sending obscene photos on WhatsApp was arrested by the Chaitanyapuri police on Friday.
According to the police, a 41-year-old woman had been receiving explicit images from her neighbour and the suspect, Nagarreddy Naga Subba Reddy (32), who lives in the same apartment complex.
Following her initial complaint, the police warned the suspect and let him off. However, he later called the woman again and threatened that he would continue sending obscene photos unless she paid him Rs 10 lakh.
The victim again approached the police for a second time and lodged a formal complaint.
The Chaitanyapuri police booked a case and arrested Subba Reddy. Officials said a thorough investigation was on.
