Hyderabad: Man held for stealing idols from temple
Vadla Srinivas, (39), a native of Balanagar of Ranga Reddy district and a resident of Almasguda, went to the temple to attend an anadanam, and took away the idols and left the place on Saturday late night.
Hyderabad The Meerpet police on Monday arrested a man for allegedly stealing idols of deities from a temple on Sunday.
According to the police, Vadla Srinivas, (39), a native of Balanagar of Ranga Reddy district and a resident of Almasguda, went to the temple to attend an anadanam, and took away the idols and left the place on Saturday late night.
The theft came to light on Sunday morning, when the temple committee members noticed three idols missing and made a complaint with the Meerpet police. The police teams took into custody Srinivas, on suspicion. On questioning, he admitted to stealing the idols and the police recovered it.
