Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Police arrested a 29-year-old man for illegally possessing a country-made pistol at Khilwath in Hussainialam on Thursday.
The suspect, Amjad Khan, a Charminar-based businessman and Saudi Arabia returnee, was found in possession of a 0.7 mm country-made pistol during a regular checking drive.
Police said the weapon was allegedly procured a few months ago through intermediaries from Madhya Pradesh for a high price and was kept to intimidate the public.
Two other persons suspected to be involved in supplying the weapon are absconding, and a search is underway to nab them, police said.
