Hyderabad: The Karkhana police arrested a youngster on charges of illegal possession of narcotic substances and committing burglaries, here on Friday. Police seized 1.2 kg marijuana, 10 ml of hashish oil, cash, gold ornaments, watches, mobile phones and a bike, altogether worth Rs.3 lakh from him.
The arrested person – Mohd.Ahmed Pasha, a construction worker from Subhash Nagar Colony in IDA Jeedimetla, was involved in seven cases in Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda, police said.
North Zone DCP Chandana Deepti said Ahmed Pasha did recce of secluded residential colonies and broke into the houses and temples and stole valuables. He also started procuring marijuana in dry and liquid form for self-consumption.
“He was earlier involved in 19 burglary cases in Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda. He was also detained under the Preventive Detention Act by the Bowenpally police in 2018 and jailed. He was released in 2021 and since then committed six offences,” the DCP said.
Following a tip-off, the police arrested Ahmed Pasha and seized the narcotic substance and other material from him. He was further remanded in judicial custody.
