Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force (North) on Thursday caught one person, Shaik Mohd Ahmed Azmathulla alias Showkath (54), and seized a countrymade pistol, 10 live rounds and two daggers from him.
According to DCP (Task Force) P Radha Kishan Rao, the suspect had disputes over a property at Begumpet with his two brothers Shaik Mohammed Abdullah and Sohail Ahmed for the last few years. A case pertaining to the property was pending in the court.
“Azmathullah with an intention to get his two brothers framed in an Arms Act case took the country-made weapon and two daggers and hid them in his brothers’ house. He then informed the police about the weapons,” Rao said, adding that after finding the weapons, the police questioned Abdullah and Sohail Ahmed, who suspected the role of Azmathullah.
The police then picked up the suspect and during interrogation, he admitted to hiding the weapons in their house to get them framed and to take over the property when they were sent to jail.
The suspect along with the weapons was handed over to Musheerabad police for further action.
