Hyderabad: A local court here on Monday sentenced a 67-year-old man to seven years of rigorous imprisonment on charges of murdering his wife. The court imposed fine of Rs 500 on him.
It was in July 2018 that D Venkata Ramana alias Venkat Rao, who worked as a watchman in an apartment in Goutham Nagar in Malkajgiri, hit his wife Chantamma alias Laxmi (55) with a water motor pump on her head during an argument. She died on the spot.
Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat appreciated the investigation officer and team for their efforts in securing conviction and announced rewards to them.
