Hyderabad: A bank employee committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance at his house in Golconda. Before consuming the poison, he made a selfie video in which he blamed his wife and in-laws for forcing him to take the extreme step of ending his life.

The man identified as Santosh Kumar (36), who was working at a private bank in the city, lived at Shaikpet in Golconda. He was married around nine years ago and the couple have a seven-year-old son.

According to the police, Santosh Kumar and his wife were having personal differences due to which they used to quarrel frequently. Santosh’s wife left the house in August and made a complaint against him with the police, however, after intervention of their elders, the issue was resolved.

“Again after that, the woman left the house and went to her parents place following a quarrel with her husband. Following this, on Friday evening, Santosh Kumar consumed poisonous substance and on coming to know about it, his relatives rushed him to a private hospital where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment on Sunday,” said the Golconda police. A case was registered under Section 306 of IPC (abetment to suicide) against the victim’s wife and her relatives.

In the video, Santosh apologised to his son and parents for ending his life and asked his brother to take care of his parents. Santosh said he was ending his life due to harassment by his wife.
