Hyderabad: Man loses Rs 1.75 lakh after downloading fake movie app
A Cyberabad man lost Rs 1.75 lakh after downloading a fake movie app advertised on Facebook. Malware in the app accessed OTPs and SMS, allowing fraudsters to drain bank accounts. Police have registered a case and are investigating.

Hyderabad: A man from the Cyberabad region lost nearly Rs 1.75 lakh allegedly after downloading a fake movie app from a Facebook advertisement.
Police said the app contained malware that accessed SMS and OTPs, enabling fraudsters to withdraw Rs 80,000 from his account and Rs 95,000 from his mother’s account linked to the same phone.
A case has been registered.
