Hyderabad: A cab driver was murdered brutally early on Saturday at a hostel in Medipally over an issue involving a woman.
According to the police, Mahender Reddy (38), a native of Jangaon earned out his livelihood by working as a cab driver. A few years ago, he had stayed at a hostel in Medipally where he allegedly got close to a woman who reportedly owned and managed the hostel.
Due to some issues, Mahender shifted to Jangaon but frequently visited the hostel to meet the woman.
The suspect Kiran Reddy, is now staying at the hostel for last few months and Mahender had suspicion that the former was having a relationship with the woman.
On Friday late night, he came to the hostel and found Kiran Reddy with the woman. An argument broke out between them following which Kiran Reddy took an article kept in the kitchen and attacked Mahender leading to injuries and subsequent death.
On information, Medipally police reached the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem examination to Gandhi Hospital. A case is registered and both Kiran and the woman were taken into custody for questioning.
