Hyderabad: A local court here on Monday sentenced a carpenter to life imprisonment for raping a minor girl.
The police said the carpenter lured the 14-year-old old girl on the pretext of love and promised to marry her. The accused, who was already married took the girl to Sadasivapet and raped her in a rented house.
Based on her father’s complaint, the police initially registered a girl missing case and later altered to it to sections related to kidnap and rape and also charged the man under the POCSO (Act) and arrested him.
