Hyderabad: A special court for child-related offences on Thursday sentenced a man to life imprisonment in the rape case of a minor girl reported at Mangalhat in 2024. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.
E Durga Shankar (30), a gas delivery executive from Indira Nagar in Mangalhat, had confined and raped the 16-year-old girl. He further threatened her not to disclose the matter to anyone.
Based on the victim’s complaint, Mangalhat police booked a case and arrested Durga Shankar.
The court also ordered compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the victim.
