Hyderabad: Man stabbed during Ganesh immersion procession in KPHB

Hyderabad: A man was injured after being stabbed by a group of unidentified persons during the Ganesh idol immersion procession at KPHB on Friday night.
According to reports, Rambabu from Kukatpally was participating in a procession from KPHB Phase-VI towards Kukatpally Lake when he reportedly got into an argument with a group of youths over an unknown issue.
Following the argument, Rambabu was stabbed with a sharp weapon, leaving him grievously injured. He was shifted to a nearby private hospital for treatment and his condition is stable.
KPHB police are investigating the incident.
Two suffer minor injuries
Two youths suffered minor injuries after a Ganesh idol allegedly fell while being lifted by a crane during immersion in Saroornagar Lake on Friday night.
A group of youths from LB Nagar brought the idol on a tractor for immersion. After placing the idol in the crane carriage, the youths remained on the tractor. As the idol was being lifted, one of the ropes of the carriage allegedly broke, causing the idol to fall on them.
The incident caused mild tension as the youths staged a protest, alleging poor arrangements by GHMC and the police.
Man dies after being hit by crane during immersion
An elderly man died allegedly after being hit by a heavy crane during the Ganesh idol immersion process at New Gayathri Nagar in Meerpet on Saturday.
As per available information, the man identified as Prasad Babu, a retired employee suffered grievous injuries and died on the spot.
The Meerpet police are investigating.
