Hyderabad: The first Urdu job mela scheduled to be held at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) on January 6 has been postponed in view of precautionary measures announced by Government of Telangana to control the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, a press release from MANUU, said.
Dr. Mohammed Yousuf Khan, Incharge, Training and Placement Cell, MANUU said that the decision was taken by competent authorities in view of orders issued by the Telangana Government on January 1, regarding strict prohibition imposed on any public meetings to stop the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19. The new date of the Urdu job mela will be announced later.
Meanwhile, senior faculty member of MANUU and expert on Deccan Studies, Prof. Mohd. Naseemuddin Farees has superannuated from the educational institution. On the occasion, MANUU organised a farewell function in honour of the outgoing scholar, on December 31, which was attended senior MANUU faculty members.
