Hyderabad: A young woman, who was reportedly depressed over marriage proposals for her failing, died while under treatment in hospital on Saturday after attempting to hang herself on Friday.
The victim was identified as T.Kavya (22), a resident of Sri Krishna Nagar in Banjara Hills. She lived with her parents and two younger siblings.
According to the police, Kavya’s parents were searching for a suitable match for over a year now. With two proposals being rejected recently, she was depressed.
On Friday, she attempted to die by suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan with a dupatta in her bedroom. Family members saw her and shifted her to a nearby private hospital, where she died while under treatment in the early hours of Saturday.
The Banjara Hills police have registered a case and are investigating. The body was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
