Hyderabad: MBBS graduate dies by suicide in Alwal after family dispute

A 23-year-old MBBS graduate allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Risala Bazar in Alwal on Friday. Police suspect a family dispute preceded the incident and have registered a case while probing if any other factors were involved.

Hyderabad: A dispute over allegedly bringing home a pet cat which subsequently triggered a series of events that ended in the tragic suicide of a 23-year-old MBBS graduate in Alwal on Friday.

As per information available, the medico identified as T Princy alias Shreshta had recently completed her MBBS and was preparing for postgraduate entrance exams while staying with her family in Risala Bazar.
She is said to have had frequent arguments with her mother, Kusumalatha, over minor issues, which recently had intensified after she brought a pet cat home.


Upset over the ongoing conflicts, Shreshta is believed to have taken the extreme step by hanging from the ceiling fan in the bedroom, when she was alone at home on Friday evening. Family members later found her and alerted the police authorities

On receiving information, the Alwal police visited the spot and based on a complaint filed by her mother, took up investigation. They are also probing if there is any other possible reason which led to her suicide.
