Hyderabad: Media professional duped online

Hyderabad: A media professional from Jubilee Hills was duped by unidentified persons allegedly in the guise of buying furniture on a popular e-commerce website.

The complainant had recently posted an advertisement to sell his used sofa set and immediately received a call from a person expressing interest in buying the product. Police said the person sent a QR code to the complainant asking him to scan it, and subsequently payment would be made. When he scanned, Rs 25,000 was debited from his bank account.

The Jubilee Hills police are investigating.
