Hyderabad: Eat fresh, be healthy is the concept that has been picked up by many people these days. Keeping this in mind, Hyderabad-based Parramita Sen Gupta came up with the idea of starting freshly cut vegetables delivered to your place.
Quiz her how she started this innovative business, she says, “It all started during the first lockdown of the pandemic. I initially started to help my neighbours and relatives, and was sending them cut vegetables. But later on, through word of mouth, many work-from-home women and bachelors started to order and my business started to grow.”
The Sainkipuri-based entrepreneur later started to promote her business in social media.
Parramita is leaving no stone unturned to maintain the hygiene. Once the customer places the order, she purchases the vegetables and washes them with vinegar, soda, or salt and dries them. Once they are dry, she starts chopping.
The mother of two further explains how the order has to be placed. “The customer has to inform a day ahead the choice of vegetables they want, the quantity, and which dish they plan to make with the vegetables and accordingly I chop them. For example, for sambar, we chop them a little big whereas for fries and curries we chop them fine, and for stuffed curries, vegetables like bhindi (ladies finger), karela (bitter gourd), we make compartments in the vegetables which is suitable for stuffing,” says Parramita, whose husband Mrinal Sen Gupta helps her deliver the chopped vegetables personally to the client.
Parramita’s charges are reasonable enough. For one kg, she charges the cost of the vegetable as per the day’s market price, plus cutting charges of Rs 50 and delivery charges of Rs 80 (within Secunderabad area). Depending on the vegetables chosen, quantity and distance, the charges keep changing.
Parramita also ventured into ‘Satvik food’ concept wherein she cooks healthy food and delivers it to homes.
Being a Bengali, she also takes special Bengali food menu orders and delivers them to the customer. Parrimita can be contacted on 7337218844, 9032671843.
