Hyderabad: Arrangements were being made to purchase additional trains to accommodate the increasing crowd in Metro trains, said L&T Metro Rail Managing Director, KVB Reddy.

Speaking at a three-day innovative promotional campaign called ‘MeTimeOnMy Metro’ at the JBS Metro Station here on Wednesday, he said the new trains would arrive within 18 months of placing the order. However, he added, if passengers adopt more discipline, the crowd problem would be significantly reduced.

Meanwhile, HMR Managing Director, NVS Reddy said the metro rail would provide an opportunity for passengers to showcase their interests in various fields of art, literature, and culture. Suitable space would be allocated at spacious stations like MGBS for metro passengers to showcase their skills, he said.

On the occasion of the Sankranti festival, the three-day innovative promotional campaign ‘MeTimeOnMy Metro’ was launched today. NVS Reddy said some key station junctions and spacious areas will be developed as special hubs and international centers.

He also indicated that plans were being prepared to establish a mega junction station for the proposed JBS – Shamirpet (22 km) and Paradise – Medchal (23 km) routes in Phase-2 Part-‘B’.
