Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority earns 1,225 cr through MSB permissions
HMDA received 3,677 applications in 2025, approving 2,887 with a 79 per cent approval rate. Permit fee collections surged to Rs 1,225 crore, marking a 245 per cent increase from 2024 and reflecting strong growth in multi-storey, layout, and building projects across Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) received a total of 3,677 new applications, including multi-storeyed building (MSB) permissions, layout with open plots, layout with housing, and building permissions, and of them approved as many as 2,887 applications, which reflects a remarkable approval rate of 79 per cent, according to an official release.
Permit fee collections soared to Rs 1,225 crore, which is significantly higher by 245 per cent compared to 2024 (Rs 355 crore) and by 82 per cent compared to 2023 (Rs 674 crore). The monthly revenue in 2025 has been higher than the monthly revenue in the corresponding months of 2024 and 2023. In September 2025 alone, the revenue collection registered as Rs 132 crore, a 263 per cent increase from September 2024, HMDA release stated.
