Hyderabad: Five days after he went missing, pet hound Rocky was finally traced and reunited with his master. According to the Vanasthalipuram police, Rocky, a pet dog with an exotic Indian hound lineage, had gone missing from Sharada Nagar in Vanasthalipuram on the night of December 30.
According to Rocky’s master Santhosh Dutande, Rocky was last seen in front of his house around 7 pm, after which he went missing. Though Santhosh went around the entire neighborhood looking for his pet, there was no trace of Rocky. All his attempts to trace the canine for nearly three days went in vain, following which he approached the police and lodged a complaint on Monday night.
The Vanasthalipuram police immediately booked a case of dog missing and started enquiring with people in the locality, and examined CCTV camera footage from near the spot where Rocky was last seen.
Apart from this, the police also shared a picture and details of the canine on their social media platforms. This move clicked, with locals at Marripalli in Tattiannaram alerting the police about having seen Rocky. A police team rushed to the spot and found that Rocky was in safe custody of a vegetable vendor couple, Satyanarayana and Bhagyalatha.
They had found Rocky wandering near their shop and when he did not go away, they took him home and were taking care of him, hoping that his owner would soon come for him.
The Vanasthalipuram police handed over Rocky to its master, who thanked the police and the couple for getting back his pet safely.
