Hyderabad: Mobile technician dies, girlfriend critical after suspected drug overdose
A 28-year-old mobile phone technician from Kalapather died under suspicious circumstances in a flat at Shivrampally, Rajendranagar, while his girlfriend from Kurnool remains critical after allegedly consuming drugs. Police suspect a drug overdose and have launched an investigation.
Hyderabad: Mystery shrouds the death of a mobile phone technician, whose body was found in an apartment building in Shivrampally near Rajendranagar on Wednesday night. Police found an unconscious woman, believed to be his girlfriend in the same apartment.
The mysterious death gave rise to suspicions whether the live-in couple had taken an overdose of narcotic drugs, as they were believed to have got some from a friend in Red Hills locality in Hyderabad.
The woman has been rushed to a hospital where she is stated to be battling for her life.
According to the police, the dead man identified as Ahmed Ali (28) of Kalapather, was living with a woman in the flat in Shivrampally. On Wednesday night, the police received information that Ahmed and the girl were found unconscious in the flat.
When the police reached the apartment they found that Ahmed had died while the woman, who is identified as a resident of Kurnool, in Andhra Pradesh was in an unconscious state.
Police shifted the body of the man to Osmania Hospital mortuary while the girl was rushed for treatment to a private hospital.
The police learnt that the man along with others had bought some drugs from a person at Red Hills and they had consumed it. Investigation is on.
