Hyderabad: Traffic movement was affected in Malakpet after the two bridges- Chaderghat causeway and Moosarambagh Bridge – on the River Musi were closed following heavy inflows on Tuesday.
The authorities had opened few more gates of Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar reservoirs following heavy inflows from the catchment areas in the aftermath of heavy rains.
The traffic police had closed down the two bridges as a precautionary measure as the water was flowing above the danger mark. Barricades were placed and the motorists were advised to use alternative routes. Senior police officials visited both the bridges during the day and reviewed the arrangements for the traffic flow on alternative routes.
During the evening, traffic slowdown was witnessed at Moosarambagh, Amberpet Road, Chaderghat and Malakpet following the closing down of the bridge.
