Hyderabad: Motorist arrested in hit and run case

Hyderabad: The KPHB police on Wednesday arrested one person on charges of rash and negligent driving resulting in the death of a pedestrian.
The arrested person, D Boyina Thukaram (28), a delivery executive of a cloth shop at Jubilee Hills and a resident of Banjara Hills, had gone to KPHB on September 23 on his bike to deliver clothes at a shop. When he reached near the JNTU signal, he hit S Sampath (34) who was crossing the road.
“He was well aware that it was dangerous but still overtook a vehicle and hit the pedestrian. The victim fell on the road and died of grievous injuries while Thukaram escaped from the spot,” police said.
The KPHB police, with the help of CCTV footage, identified and nabbed Thukaram at Jubilee Hills. The bike was also seized. He was produced before court and remanded in judicial custody.
