Hyderabad: A suspect in a murder attempt case was booked for the second time by the police allegedly for releasing his dog on a police team that went to arrest him. The incident happened at Banjara Hills on Wednesday night.
According to the police, Syed Ahmed Jafri (71) of Banjara Hills had a dispute with one Arif over a land plot in Jubilee Hills. On Tuesday night, Arif was attacked and a case was booked against Jafri and others at the Banjara Hills police station. On Wednesday night, a police team went to Jafri’s house to arrest him.
“Jafri latched the door and did not come out. When the police insisted that he cooperate, the family allegedly let their dog loose on the police and also abused the police personnel,” Banjara Hills Inspector K Shiva Chandra said, adding that a case under Sections 332, 353, 504, 506 and 109 r/w 34 of IPC was booked against Jafri and others.
