North Zone Police solved two theft cases on Tuesday, arresting three people and recovering gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 31 lakh. In both cases, maid servants were found to be involved, police said.

Hyderabad: The North Zone Police have solved two major theft cases and arrested three persons and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth about Rs 31 lakh on Tuesday.
In the first case registered at Karkhana Police Station, a Bowenpally-based jeweller reported the gradual disappearance of gold ornaments and biscuits from his residence.
Following an investigation, police arrested his maid servant, Uragadda Madhavi (35) and her husband, Uragadda Krishnaiah (40). The duo allegedly committed repeated thefts and melted part of the stolen gold for personal use. Police recovered gold ornaments and melted gold weighing 24.2 tolas.
In the second case, at Bolarum Police Station, a housewife reported the theft of gold and silver ornaments from her almirah. Police arrested maid servant J Sindhu alias Chinnari and recovered gold and silver ornaments.
