Hyderabad: Nurse killed in hit-and-run accident in Asifnagar

A 42-year-old nurse from Mehdipatnam died after being struck by an Innova car in a hit-and-run accident in Asifnagar. Police are investigating the case and trying to trace the individual who hired the vehicle involved in the fatal crash.

Hyderabad: A nurse died in a hit-and-run accident reported in Asifnagar on Sunday.

According to the police, the victim, Faheemunnisa (42), a resident of Hill Colony in Mehdipatnam, was walking to her workplace when an Innova car rammed into her.

“The woman suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital for treatment. She later died while undergoing treatment,” said Asifnagar Sub-Inspector A. Ramanjaneyulu.

The driver sped away from the spot after the accident. During the investigation, the police found that the car had been hired on a self-drive basis by an individual. Efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the person who hired the vehicle. It is learnt that the car was hired by the son of a local politician.
