Hyderabad: One arrested with drugs worth over Rs 3 crore
Accused Vikas Sohu used to procure drugs from peddlers and sell them to truck drivers from other States, say police

Hyderabad: In a major drug bust, the Cyberabad SOT along with the Shadnagar police nabbed one person and recovered a variety of drugs and other material, altogether worth over Rs 3 crore at Raikal toll gate.
The arrested person Vikas Sohu (26) is a cooking master at a dhaba at Raikal toll gate. Absconding persons are Salim from Dhoolpet, Raju from Jalpally and Ganpath from Madhya Pradesh, all drug peddlers.
According to the police, Vikas Sohu and his employer Sanju Bhai were earlier arrested in similar offences. They procured drugs from Salim, Raju and Ganpath and sold them to truck drivers from other States and pedestrians who come to their dhaba. They also consumed marijuana.
In 2022, both Vikas Sohu and Sanju Bhai were arrested by Jadcherla police in a drug peddling case and jailed. After being released from the prison, they resumed their drug peddling activities.
They purchased 10 grams of opium for Rs 1,300 and sold it for Rs 2,000, 250 grams of poppy straw for Rs 500 and sold it for Rs 1,500, and 1 gram of heroin for Rs 12,000 and sold it for Rs 15,000, earning significant profits.
After passing away of Sanju Bhai in April this year, Vikas continued the drug business.
Last week, Vikas purchased 1.5 kg of heroin, 750 grams of opium, 3.5 kg of poppy straw from Ganpath, and 1.5 kg of marijuana from Raju. He sold a portion, earning Rs 89,700 and was waiting for the right time to sell them.
On credible information, Shamshabad SOT and Shadnagar police nabbed Vikas and seized 1.5 kgs of heroin worth Rs 3 crore in international market, 632 grams of opium worth Rs 3.1 lakh, 2.8 kgs of poppy straw worth Rs 42,000 and 1 kg marijuana worth Rs 50,000, altogether worth over Rs 3.05 crore.
