Hyderabad: One killed, two injured as speeding car runs over people sleeping on pavment

Police suspect the car was driven by the driver in a rash and negligent manner ramming into a footpath.

Hyderabad: In a hit-and-run incident, one person died and two others were injured after a rashly driven car went out of control and ran over people sleeping on the pavement near Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital in the early hours on Saturday.

Police suspect the car was driven by the driver in a rash and negligent manner ramming into a footpath.


As per available information, the incident occurred around 4am, when the car which was proceeding towards Jubilee Hills, lost control and crashed into the pavement.

With the same speed, the vehicle climbed the pavement and hit people sleeping on it.

The victim and injured persons were to be identified.

The car driver escaped from the spot.

The Banjara Hills police are investigating. The CCTV footage from the surroundings are being examined.
