Hyderabad: Organs of 74-year-old man donated as part of Jeevandan

Jangiah had a fall on January 19 at his home and was rushed to hospital for treatment. He was declared as brain dead on December 23.

Hyderabad: Family members of 74-year-old farmer Putty Jangiah, a resident of Mudwin village, Amangal, Mahabubnagar, who was declared as brain dead, have donated the organs of the deceased to needy patients as part of state-run Jeevandan organ donation initiative.

Jangiah had a fall on January 19 at his home and was rushed to hospital for treatment. He was declared as brain dead on December 23.


Following consent to donate his organs from relatives, the surgeons retrieved 2 kidneys, 2 corneas and liver ( in all 5 organs) that were allocated to needy patients under Jeevandan organ donation initiative.
