Hyderabad: The Ghatkesar police arrested two burglars involved in half-a-dozen cases and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 11.2 lakh from them on Wednesday.
The arrested persons are D Venkanna (23) and Mohd. Jaleel (21), both residents of Balaji Nagar in Ghatkesar. According to the police, the duo targeted locked houses in secluded residential colonies and broke into them and looted. They disposed the stolen material and shared the money.
The suspects were earlier involved in burglaries in Ghatkesar, Bibinagar, SR Nagar and Gopalapuram.
On Monday, they burgled a house at Balaji Nagar in Ghatkesar and decamped with cash and jewellery worth Rs 11.2 lakh. A case was booked at Ghatkesar police station.
While the investigation was on, the duo was nabbed while moving suspiciously near Ghatkesar bus stand. They confessed to committing the offence and the stolen material was recovered intact from them. They were produced before the court for remand in judicial custody.
