Hyderabad: Floodwater inflows have started entering the twin reservoirs—Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar—after rainfall in the upstream catchment regions.

Technical staff from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) are closely observing the inflows and the current storage levels in both reservoirs. Officials are reviewing the situation and tracking fresh inflows at regular intervals, and they are prepared to take necessary steps if conditions require, according to an official press release on Sunday.

Considering the inflows, the HMWSSB managing director K Ashok Reddy asked the relevant government departments, including GHMC, Revenue and Police, and Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (Hydraa), along with civic bodies and people living in downstream areas of the reservoirs, to stay alert, it said.
