Hyderabad: Osmania University professor is new NUALS Vice Chancellor

Based on the recommendation of a high-level committee, Kerala HC Chief Justice Nitin Jamdar approves GB Reddy, a senior professor of Law at the OU College of Law

Hyderabad: GB Reddy, a senior professor of Law at the Osmania University College of Law, has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi.

Based on the recommendation of a high-level search committee, Kerala High Court Chief Justice Nitin Jamdar approved GB Reddy’s selection as Vice Chancellor of NUALS. He succeeds Justice S Siri Jagan, retired judge of the Kerala High Court, who served as the acting Vice Chancellor since 2023.


In his academic career, Prof Reddy served as the Director of the Prof. G. Ram Reddy Centre for Distance Education, and as the IPR Chair Professor under the DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He holds two gold medals in LLB and one gold medal in LLM, and was awarded his Doctorate in Law in 1999 from Osmania University for his thesis titled ‘Supreme Court and Judicial Activism – Its Contribution in Specific Areas of Constitutional Law after 1980’.
