Hyderabad: After extending main gates closure timings from 8 pm to 9 pm, the Osmania University decided to keep its gate adjacent to the Adkimet bridge open round the clock besides prohibiting heavy, transport, and commercial vehicles from entering the main road of the university.
The decision to open the gate 24/7 has been taken to facilitate the entry of employees and students of various university departments, including the OU Distance Education (PGRRCDE), Regional Institute of Urban and Environmental Studies (RCUES), Directorate of Admissions, NGO Home, Sanskrit Academy, EMRC Institutions, and others into the varsity.

He directed university authorities to ensure that students are able to continue their studies in a peaceful and secure environment.
OU security personnel have been instructed to conduct regular inspections, patrols, and night patrols as necessary to ensure the safety and convenience of students, faculty, and staff. Security personnel have also been instructed to remain vigilant and take appropriate action based on the situation.
Prof. Kumar emphasized the importance of special care in ensuring the safety of women and children and called for cooperation from all members of the university community to uphold these measures.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the suggestions and concerns raised by students, teachers, and staff must be taken into account, and appropriate actions should be implemented accordingly.
