Hyderabad passenger arrested for allegedly smoking onboard IndiGo flight
A Hyderabad resident, S. Gangaram, was arrested for allegedly smoking in the lavatory of an IndiGo flight from Dubai. Airport staff seized his cigarettes and lighter. RGIA police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

Hyderabad: A passenger was arrested for allegedly smoking onboard a flight at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Sunday.
According to airport officials, S. Gangaram, a resident of Hyderabad, had travelled to Dubai for personal work and was returning on Indigo Airlines flight 6E-1466. Despite the ban by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), he secretly carried cigarettes and a lighter onto the aircraft.
During the flight, he went into the lavatory and smoked a cigarette. When smoke was noticed outside, the airline staff grew alert, checked his belongings, and seized the cigarettes and lighter.
The RGIA police have registered a case and taken up investigation.
