Hyderabad: Passenger dies, brother injured after being pushed off moving train
A passenger died and his brother was injured after a co-passenger allegedly pushed them off the Dakshin Express near Hyderabad. The suspect, who appeared mentally unstable, was detained by RPF and handed over to the police.
Hyderabad: A passenger died and his brother was critically injured after being allegedly pushed off the Dakshin Express by a co-passenger on Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Harsh Chandwani (25), while his brother Ajay Chandwani (30) sustained severe injuries and is undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital. Both hail from Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh.
According to railway officials, the incident occurred between Ghatkesar and Bibinagar when the unidentified suspect allegedly kicked the brothers seated near the coach door, causing them to fall from the moving train. Passengers pulled the alarm chain, stopped the train, and caught the suspect.
The Railway Protection Force personnel on escort duty took the suspect into custody and handed him over to the Secunderabad Railway Police.
Police said the suspect who appeared mentally unstable, had no identification documents, and efforts are underway to trace his identity and motive.
