Hyderabad: PDS rice smuggling racket busted in Pahadishareef, one held
Pahadishareef police busted a PDS rice smuggling racket and arrested one person during a vehicle check near Jama Masjid. Officials seized 800 kg of subsidised rice allegedly being diverted from ration card holders for illegal resale in the market.
Hyderabad: The Pahadishareef Police busted a PDS rice smuggling racket by nabbing one person and seizing 800 kg of subsidised rice during a vehicle check near Jama Masjid on Saturday.
Police intercepted a trolley auto and found 16 bags of PDS rice being transported illegally. The driver, Ram Jeevan Sani, was caught. He confessed that he was working for Wajid, who allegedly sourced rice from ration card holders at low prices and sold it for profit.
The case is being investigated. Efforts are on to nab Wajid.
