Hyderabad police arrest rowdy sheeter after 14 years on run
Police arrested Vaishnav Kishan Das alias Ganesh Maharaj, a rowdy sheeter absconding for 14 years in a murder case. He is accused in 21 cases and allegedly changed identity documents to avoid arrest. Investigation into document fraud is underway.

Hyderabad: The City Police arrested a notorious rowdy sheeter, Vaishnav Kishan Das alias Ganesh Maharaj, who had been absconding for the last 14 years, in a murder case registered at Sultan Bazar police station.
Police said Vaishnav, against whom a rowdy sheet has been maintained since 1999, is involved in 21 criminal cases including murder, attempt to murder and theft. He was allegedly evading trial in a 2010 murder case after securing bail in 2012.
During the investigation, police found he had changed his identity details in Aadhaar and other documents to avoid identification while staying in Malakpet.
A special police team traced and arrested him.
A separate inquiry has been initiated into the alleged fraudulent modification of identity documents.
