Hyderabad: A 33-year-old man has been booked by the police for allegedly harassing a 19-year-old college student after she rejected his proposal in Medipally suburb on Friday.
According to police, the suspect, identified as Suresh, a resident of Boduppal, was living in the same neighbourhood as the victim. He reportedly became acquainted with the young woman and later obtained her mobile number. Over time, he began pressuring her, claiming that he loved her and insisting that she marry him.
Police said the harassment escalated as the man allegedly followed her regularly while she was on her way to college and continued to trouble her despite her lack of interest.
Unable to bear the repeated harassment, the student approached the Medipally police and lodged a complaint. Based on her statement, the police registered a case and are investigating.
