Hyderabad police books 552 motorists in weekend drunk-driving checks

The Hyderabad Traffic Police booked 552 motorists during weekend drunken-driving checks across the city. Those caught, including riders and drivers with high BAC levels, must appear in court. Police said the zero-tolerance enforcement drive will continue.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad traffic police during the weekend special drunken driving checks caught 552 persons.

Among those caught are 438 two wheeler riders, 45 three wheeler riders and 69 four wheeler drivers.

Ten persons recorded BAC levels above 300 mg/100 ml while eight individuals recorded BAC levels between 251 mg/100 ml – 300 mg/100 ml.All those caught for the violation will have to appear before the court for legal proceedings.

The traffic police said that there will be zero tolerance on drunk and drive violations and the special drives will continue.
