Hyderabad police bust interstate gang smuggling e-cigarettes from Dubai

Hyderabad: The Task Force (West) team busted an interstate gang smuggling e-cigarettes and banned foreign cigarettes from Dubai, seizing contraband worth Rs 25 lakh on Thursday.

Those arrested were identified as Abdullah Shetty, a supplier from Mumbai; Mohd Tajuddin, a coordinator from Mehdipatnam; Mohd Sami, a wholesaler from Golconda; Mohd Sohail Khan, a retailer from Golconda; Khaleel Ahmed, a manpower supplier from Borabanda; and Mayank Bise, a worker from Indore.

Police said the gang was importing consignments from Dubai and selling them illegally in Hyderabad.

The police seized 6,800 packs of Platinum Seven Cool cigarettes, 360 Elfbar e-cigarettes, a scooter, and six mobile phones.

The arrested persons and seized material were handed over to the local police for further action.
