Hyderabad Police conduct pre-New Year checks

Hyderabad traffic police carried out a special drunken driving check on Banjara Hills Road ahead of New Year celebrations. Commissioner VC Sajjanar warned of strict action and announced citywide checks at 120 locations on December 31 to prevent inebriated driving

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad traffic police conducted a special drunken driving checking in the city on Wednesday night ahead of the New Year.

Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, VC Sajjanar, monitored the checking at Banjara Hills Road No. 14.


The drive was taken up in the run up to the New Year by the Hyderabad police to prevent instances of drunken driving in the city by revelers.

Hyderabad CP had said that on the night of December 31 night, the traffic police along with their law and order counterparts will undertake checking at 120 places in the city. He warned that stringent action will be taken against any person caught driving in inebriated condition.
