Hyderabad: A police constable allegedly died by suicide at the LB Nagar Police Station on Wednesday, leaving fellow personnel and his family members shocked.
The victim was identified as Sai Kumar, who was attached to the police station.
According to information available, Sai Kumar had reported for night duty and was performing his duties at the station on Tuesday. On Wednesday morning, other staff members found him hanging, following which they alerted senior officials.
LB Nagar Inspector Vinod visited the police station and inspected the spot. The reason for the suicide is yet to be known.
The body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for autopsy.
Meanwhile, Sai Kumar’s family members have reportedly raised questions over the circumstances surrounding his death. The family is said to be demanding that his mobile phone be handed over to them, suspecting that it may contain information relevant to the incident.
The family members have also reportedly expressed their displeasure over the body being shifted for autopsy without informing them first. They have sought clarity from the police regarding the circumstances that led to Sai Kumar’s death.
The LB Nagar Police are investigating.
