Hyderabad police counselled 1,022 youngsters during a week-long Operation Chabutra in the Charminar zone. Police warned youngsters against unlawful activities and late-night roaming, while medical shop owners were cautioned against allowing establishments to facilitate late-night gatherings.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police conducted a week-long ‘Operation Chabutra’ in the Charminar zone from August 15 to 20, counselling 1,022 youngsters found unnecessarily roaming on roads and in public places during late-night hours.
During the operation, police personnel counselled the youngsters about the risks and consequences of getting involved in unlawful activities and associating with anti-social elements. In cases where violations were noticed, e-Petty Cases were registered as a preventive and deterrent measure.
DCP Charminar Zone Kiran Khare appealed to parents to closely monitor the activities and movements of their children, particularly during late-night hours, and advise them against unnecessary roaming on roads.
The police also warned medical shop owners against keeping their establishments open late at night under the guise of pharmacy operations while selling cold drinks, snacks and other items that facilitate gatherings of youngsters. Stringent action would be taken against establishments found violating norms or encouraging late-night congregation, the DCP warned.
