Hyderabad: The City Police has dismissed as fake a viral message circulating on social media that claims a woman is roaming the city attempting to lure children.

City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar on Tuesday clarified that no such incident or organized gang activity has been reported anywhere in Hyderabad.

He said the message was baseless and appears to be aimed at creating unnecessary panic among residents.
Police officials warned citizens against forwarding unverified messages, noting that rumours can trigger fear, disturb public order, and potentially endanger innocent people.

The Commissioner also urged citizens not to take the law into their hands based on social media forwards.
Authorities advised residents to rely only on official communication channels for accurate information. In case of any genuinely suspicious activity, citizens have been asked to immediately alert the nearest police station or dial emergency services so that facts can be verified and appropriate action taken.
