Hyderabad police detain senior woman journalist

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police on Wednesday morning turned up at the doorstep of senior journalist Revathi Pogadadanda, to detain her.
The police said that they were investigating a case registered in connection with a video with alleged derogatory comments against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy which was recently posted on the Pulse News Break digital news platform run by the journalist.
In the video clip, which was an excerpt from a Face To Face interview, an old man reportedly a farmer who appeared on the channel made derogatory comments against the Chief Minister.

Following a complaint from Congress party leaders, a case was booked against an ‘X’ user who posted the video on social media platforms and others.
As per available information, in the early hours today, 12 persons claiming to be cops reached Revathi’s house in plain clothes and detained her. The mobile phones and laptops of Revathi and her husband Chaitanya were also seized. The Pulse News YouTube channel office room was also seized.
Earlier, taking to X, Revathi said, “Cops at my doorstep! They want to arrest me. They may pick me up and take me. One thing is clear Revanth Reddy wants to put pressure on me and my family and threaten me”.
