Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police filed a charge sheet against 23 persons in the Sandhya theatre stampede case and framed charges against actor Allu Arjun, the theatre owners and eight bouncers, along with the remaining persons.

The Chikkadpally police had arrested Allu Arjun, along with others, following the death of a 39-year-old woman in the stampede reported at Sandhya theatre during the premiere show of Pushpa-2 movie in December last year.

On December 4, 2024, Allu Arjun attended a special screening of Pushpa 2 at the Sandhya Theatre along with other artists. The victim, M Revathi, had attended the premiere with her husband and their children. On seeing the actor, the crowd went crazy, leading to a stampede in the theatre. The woman died in the stampede while her son suffered injuries and was still undergoing treatment.

The Chikkadpally police had registered a case against Allu Arjun, the theatre management and the bouncers who accompanied the actor to the theatre. The actor was subsequently arrested and remanded.

“Early this week, we filed the charge sheet in the court concerned against 23 accused involved in the case,” said an official of Hyderabad.
